Who Are You Today?

“I think somehow we learn who we really are and then we live with that decision.”

~Eleanor Roosevelt

How might you answer the question, “What is your truth?” What does that mean? For me, it’s not how others see you and the framework of your life in terms of the job, car, and home. I believe the question is really asking who you truly are at the core of your being. We all know the answer deep down but it’s easy to forget with the pace of life, responsibilities, and expectations.

If you are someone who needs a refresher on defining who you uniquely are, a great place to start is by defining what you value. Here are a few ideas:

1. First, take a value assessment. Basically, you choose words that resonate with you. Examples include: bliss, compassion, service, inspire. There are several exercises online or feel free to reach out to me for an exercise I use with clients.

2. Next, ask your loved ones what they find unique and special about you… What are your strengths? How do you make others feel?

3. Finally, discover if your core values and truth are evident in your daily life by journaling for two weeks on:

a. What you spend your money on

b. Who you spend your time with

c. What activities you choose to participate in

At the end of the two weeks honestly evaluate. Is who you are in alignment with what you choose to do with your time, money, and overall with your life?

Wishes to you for a beautiful day!
