Upstream Or Downstream?

“May what I do flow from me like a river, no forcing and no holding back, the way it is with children.”

~Rainer Maria Rilke

The next time you are in a moment of anxiety, fear, anger, or impatience, take a moment to ask yourself “am I heading upstream or downstream?”

Typically, any time we are having undesirable emotions, we are headed upstream against the current. Pushing and fighting against situations and people in our lives we frankly do not have any control over.

On the flip side, when things are rolling along nicely… chances are we are simply feeling good and aligned with who we truly are at our core. The decisions we make, how we spend our time, and the people we interact with all feel healthy and right.

This week, simply be aware of what is going on when you are “upstream.” How does it feel? Is it time to change direction? If so, simply surround yourself with activities that bring joy and people who make you feel GOOD!

Wishes to you for an easygoing day!
