Elegant Evelyn’s Diary, Ch. 7: Embrace Your Inner Mystic And Experience The Magic Of Life

Dear Darling,

Greetings to you from a lovely morning! Sipping on tea in my favorite Three Pines Inspector Gamache mug, Dublin’s Rathbornes candle in Rose glowing on my desk, and Birdie and Beatrice at my feet. Life is scrumptious!

While I’d love to talk about clothes and my latests Warby Parker readers, I must beg the question…

Do you feel lately as though things are shifting, changing, and moving out of a nasty little rut and into a beautiful new chapter?

A friend called the other day to share good news about career shifts, selling a home, buying a new one, and getting back to her roots and the community she knows so well. She ended the conversation by saying “I feel like things are changing for the good.”

This time of year where I live is the most magical time with the cooler evenings, crisp mornings, Autumn colors, leaves falling, full moons, and equinoxes. It’s time for mystical walks in the woods, strolls in the rain, and being on the lookout for sign and synchronicities to lead you on the path that is right for you.

Speaking of mysticism, I was so curious yesterday on the difference between solstices and equinoxes! Apparently, the solstices arrive in Summer and Winter and are the longest and shortest days of the year. The equinoxes arrive in Spring and Fall and are when there are equal amounts of daylight and night.

Don’t you feel these times, like the new moons and full moons, are akin to doorways into new chapters?

It’s as if every so often the magic of life sprinkles upon us and we are able to see the openings into something different. Ones that will not only challenge us but bring about new experiences and growth.

A big part of this is being open. Open to the “woo woo” of life, open to the magic, open to the signs and synchronicities. Every day there are messages and miracles all around you… are you watching, listening, noticing, and feeling?

Yet sometimes those doorways are scary. We want to stay in our safe little cocoons and that is okay. Yet how often do we ignore the portals, the signs, and the invitations from the universe to do the things or make the changes we know in our hearts will move us quickly to how we really want to feel.

Doorways into the mystic come in various forms. They can be early mornings where decisions are made to let go of habits… they can be an invitation to an activity completely out of your comfort zone like a meditation class or sound healing journey…a full moon, a new moon… when the clock reads 11:11… a doorway could be simply a feeling that if you don’t jump in now, it might be awhile before the stars align again.

I guess you could say the message of today is when the universe knocks, open the door!

There have been so many times I was too frightened to say yes… or to say no. But let’s throw our caution and fear and trepidation to the wind my friend and open our spirits to what makes our hearts sing!

Life is short… so eat the cake, where the fabulous dress or trousers, light the candles, buy the fresh flowers, and always remember to tap into your magic. Your magic is the energy you possess within your body. Make it work for you. Ask it to guide you. In other words, from what you choose for breakfast to what you do for work to who you spend time with ….say no to what feels constrictive and say YES! to what feels expansive.

My heart is now singing so loud right now I feel I could run for miles… well, maybe just a stroll with Birdie and Beatrice in her puppy pram (speaking of, be sure to check out B and B’s latest adventures here on Instagram đꙂ

Enjoy the day my friend and always look for the miracles that happen all around you today.

Love,

EE
