What’s the Point of being Positive?

“Don’t worry, be happy.” “Think positive!” “I’m good enough, smart enough and gosh darn people like me!” Sound familiar? If so, I’m sure like many others, you have tried the positive think…

Before giving up on the idea and slipping back into negative patterns, however, realize there really IS science behind the power of positive thinking and an explanation why it works for some but not others. The key to making this work in your life…drumroll please… is to deeply FEEL and BELIEVE it. And the only way we can achieve this is to flush those SELF LIMITING THOUGHTS about ourselves down the drain! When you rid your life of these self limiting beliefs, your subconscious in a way becomes “retrained.”

Think about how you speak to yourself. Would you treat someone you loved this way? If you say to yourself “I’m never going to get out of debt,” or “All the good guys (or ladies) are taken,” or “I’m so disorganized,”… guess what? You got it… you are never going to get out of debt, you aren’t going to meet that special someone and your life will continue to be cluttered mentally and physically.

Starting today, just try “catching” yourself when you hear any negative self talk or thoughts, even if it’s in jest. Remember, the sub conscious can’t differentiate between you being serious or joking. The first step is the realization of how cruel we can be to ourselves! Once you start recognizing this, you are ready to adjust your thinking to “I am so happy as I am on the road to being debt free,” and “There are so many people out there just waiting to meet fabulous me!” and “I love how organized my life is becoming.” Once you start being kind to yourself and actually FEEL and BELIEVE these positive statements, you will be amazed at what wonderful, positive, fabulous things you attract on a daily basis.
