“Simple pleasures are the last healthy refuge in a complex world.” ~ Oscar Wilde
It doesn’t take much these days to bring me joy. Perhaps it’s the turmoil in the world that calls me back to the comforts of home, the dogs, a routine, and the beauty of little things like washing the dishes, doing the laundry, and getting a good night’s sleep.
These are extravagant luxuries many do not have access to. I hold them with a sense of fragility and graciousness.
So with that, I have two of my most favorite finds from the past few weeks.
Oh my. Could you ever imagine laundry being, dare I say…elegant? I have followed her for quite some time and took the plunge last month ordering a few of the products. It feels luxurious to use the wool and cashmere detergent and the room spray is divine.
Her blog is fantastic as well. I was impressed with one post encouraging us to liven up our laundry rooms and make this often mundane task into something chic.
P.S. Even the box they arrive in from NYC is an experience in itself.
Speaking of chic…
I LOVE LOVE LOVE a new book and I must share it with you!
If you follow me on Instagram you know how much I love it!
This book is one in a series of three that Jennifer L. Scott has written. It has inspired me so much as the doldrums of winter linger on. It’s a wonderful story and loaded with ideas to incorporate today into your routine.
You can also read more on her blog, The Daily Connoisseur.
Here’s the irony…
I used to feel guilty treating myself to something like the products from The Laundress. Now, however, without my nightly wine habit, it’s amazing how fun money has opened up for more beautiful and wholesome pleasures!
Lovely little things make life worth living. I hope you indulge in one or both of these or something that speaks to you in an inspiring way.
If you have a simple pleasure to share with me for future posts, please send them my way.
Sending you love,
Meg
