Let Go and Trust

“Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.”

~Steve Maraboli

A wise person once told me to step out of the river and stop trying to control the direction of the water. This metaphor, so vivid in my mind, is one I come back to frequently when trying to control the uncontrollable.

Have you worn yourself out trying to regulate people and things around you? Do you ruminate and become impatient with others to the point of frustration for all? If so, look at the underlying reason behind the control. Is it based upon fears, unmet needs, or frustrations within yourself you might be projecting on to others?

Awareness is half the battle. Going forward, make a conscious choice to step out of the river when control creeps in, and instead, choose to sit on the shore. “I let go. I trust.”

Moving the focus inward allows things to be as they should. When this happens, control is replaced with peace and freedom.

Wishes to you for a happy day!
