How To Get Out Of A Funk

Happy Monday!

How was your weekend? Mine was great. Time with family and of course lots of dogs. 🙂

I also thought about how much I miss writing my Daly Gems. They are like an old friend. Cozy, inviting, and inspiring.

So.. they’re back. They won’t be coming out every day as I am busy with other things like my Live More Drink Less 30 Day Reset and Tranquility Talk Podcast.

Instead, I’ll be sending out a “Mindset Monday” blog post along with a “Lovely Little Things Thursday” post as well. Both short and sweet and hopefully inspiring you to live with more intention and beauty each day…. so welcome back and here we go.

The Official And Very First Mindset Monday 🙂

“The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.” ~ Jimmy Johnson

If you ask me, the simple pleasures make life worth living. A yummy new dessert, a cuddle with a dog, or the first hyacinths of Spring popping out of the ground smelling like grape juice!

The world is throwing a lot at everyone these days, some more than others. When you get down, grumpy, impatient, or just having a pity party, change your mindset by getting out of your head and into your heart.

Here are a few ideas from my own life this past week:

1. Surprise someone behind you in the drive-thru line by paying for their meal or coffee. This literally happened to me for the first time yesterday in my hometown. I was in a rushed and chaotic mood and this young mother in front of me in line paid for my lunch!! Not only did it get me close to crying, it made the restaurant employee at the window so giddy! She couldn’t wait to tell me the good news. I’m guessing the sweet angel in front of me drove away feeling better than anyone.

2. Let someone pass you on the road. Who cares if they cut you off. They might be on the way to the hospital or have to go to the loo! Seriously though, just let them in and wish them safety on their way.

3. Bake. Last night, I was feeling sick about what is happening in Ukraine. So I started making an apple tart. It’s vegan and GF and so good. I shared a slice warm out of the oven with the security guard in our building and left it at a friend’s door this morning who is gluten intolerant. You can try the recipe yourself here.

4. Offer to help. A friend and neighbor of mine is moving. Yes, I have a busy day today with work AND I also have time to do a few short runs to their new place. Even if someone doesn’t need your help and has it covered, it’s nice for your friends to feel like you’ve got their back if needed.

When all else fails, go back to the “attitude store.” My niece and I joke about this. When feeling fussy we will say, “hold on, I’ll be back in a second. I have to do an exchange at the attitude store.” It’s funny… and it works.

Wishing you a marvelous mindset today and I’ll see you on Thursday with one of my favorite “lovely little things.”

Love,
Meg

Welcome

Hi I’m Meg. I love helping empathic people who sometimes “feel too much” calm their head, hearts, and homes through my courses and books. Ultimately we all want to feel good in our bodies, relationships, and with the work we do in this world. When we remove the roadblocks that exist on the road to feeling the way we want to feel life tend to flow easier.
