Begin

“The beginning is always today.”

~Mary Shelley

What do want? Is it a new career, a healthy relationship, to become more fit, to dwell in a clean and organized home, or to feel structure in your life? Why hasn’t anything happened? Why do you keep saying, “tomorrow I will start?”

Perhaps the reason lies in the underlying commitments you’ve made to yourself. These “below the surface” promises you’ve made might be what is really preventing you from reaching your goals.

A few examples:

You want to lose weight but the underlying commitment you’ve made is you love food and don’t want to limit your choices and portions.

You want to start dating, but you don’t want to give up your freedom or share your space/life with someone.

There’s good news! Once you bring these underlying commitments out of the dark, you have an awareness of what they are, and how they are holding you back. Essentially, you are conscious of your unconscious methods of sabotage.

So today, begin again, fresh and new! Go after what you want in a smarter, more aware way!
