An Austen Affair

Retreat Into Beauty & Femininity

Hosted At The Woman's Club Of Wisconsin

Find Your Magic Within The Frequency Of Beauty…

In a world that often rewards hurry, competition, and achievement, many women have forgotten the radiance of their own divine feminine — that inner spark that shines through grace, intuition, and presence. We’ve been taught to push, to strive, to compare, yet our true power has always lived in softness, creativity, and calm confidence.

This retreat is about celebrating the old-fashioned ways: tea shared in good company, thoughtful conversation, and the quiet joy of creativity expressed through meditative acts of beauty.

Reflections from Delighted Guests

“A beautiful space... Loved how cared I felt the entire weekend. From the thoughtful gifts, to the tea, to the curated meals that were so beautifully displayed. I always leave feeling like part of a family and loved and taken care of. Something that is so needed in this busy world, just to slow down and do the simple things….” ~ Monica

“After returning home, people are telling me that I am radiating joy and relaxation. I feel like I left with 12 new best friends.” ~ Amy Schneider, Wealth Advisor

“I was so impressed by the way I was woo’d to the retreat by beautiful emails, video chat, and the continual invitation to prepare for our time… Every detail was so classy and homey at the same time.” ~ Tracy Delfar, @tracydelfar, www.fineartamerica.com/profiles/tracydelfar

“There are no words for how impactful, magical and fun the entire experience was. Meg’s attention to detail, passion for teaching, love and extensive knowledge are apparent and felt in every aspect of both the curriculum and venue.” ~ Rita Weiler, Sparkalize Jewery & Wedding Hair Stylist

My retreats are more than gatherings. They are elegantly appointed treasure boxes holding space for you and your transformation.

What Awaits You

“Indulge your imagination in every possible flight." — Pride and Prejudice.

Jane’s world invites us to slow down, to notice subtle beauty, and to connect through kindness and authenticity. Her heroines remind us that refinement is not rigidity, but grace in motion.

This weekend also marks the halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox – a time to honor new beginnings, clear away stagnation, and nurture seeds of creativity and hope.

It’s an opportunity to…

  • Gently stir from the slumber of winter through creativity and connection.

  • Rekindle our inner light — the spark of creativity, purpose, and possibility.

  • Begin planting seeds of intention for the months ahead, both literally and metaphorically.

The Experience

Friday, January 30th @ The Woman’s Club of Wisconsin 9:30am-6:30pm

“The Beauty Way” Atelier

In this opening salon, you’ll explore how magic unfolds when you live in the frequency of beauty. Together, we’ll reflect on how loving presence and intention can transform every part of your life—from the way you curate your home, wardrobe, and energy to what you eat, drink, watch, and surround yourself with. Through guided reflection and creative conversation, you’ll be inspired to begin considering your own values, passions, and gifts, and how they might shape a life aesthetic that reflects your truest self.

“Dearest…” A Calligraphy Atelier

In this relaxed, heart-led workshop, we’ll explore the beauty of handwritten expression—no perfection required. Whether you’re adorning a note, journal page, or wax-sealed letter, this experience invites you to slow down, play with ink, and rediscover the mindfulness found in the simple act of writing. You may even find yourself inspired to bring more intention—and perhaps a touch of cursive—into your everyday life.

Elegant Tea Service

An Austen-inspired tea complete with fine china, sandwiches, cheese & fruit, sweet confections, and conversation worthy of Pemberley.

“Sealed with Elegance” – The Wax Seal Atelier

Experience the timeless charm of wax sealing in this hands-on workshop. You’ll melt, stamp, and embellish your own bespoke seals with dried flowers and shimmering metallic accents for a touch of artistry and depth. Bring along a meaningful item—such as a signet ring or charm—to create your personal imprint.

Evening Dinner

Gather for a beautifully prepared meal in an exquisite setting, where candlelight, conversation, and charm mingle effortlessly. A time to savor delicious food, meaningful connection, and the quiet elegance that defines An Austen Affair.

Saturday, January 31st @The Woman’s Club of Wisconsin 9:30-5:00pm

“Tokens of Affection”- A Valentine Crafting Atelier
In honor of season of love — you’ll create your own Regency-style Valentines using 300-year-old letter-folding techniques crafting cards worthy of a bygone era, infused with sentiment, artistry, and heart.

Luncheon

Enjoy a beautifully prepared meal in the club’s elegant dining room, where refined details and gracious conversation create an atmosphere straight from Austen’s pages.

“The Daly Stitchers” – A Needlepoint Atelier
Gather for a relaxing afternoon of crafting and connection led by guest instructors, “The Daly Stitchers”. Bring your own needlepoint or join as a novice — beginner kits will be provided. Together, we’ll stitch and chat in the spirit of Austen’s drawing-room grace. (I, too, am a beginner — we’ll learn side by side.)

“Sealed with Sweetness”- Surprise Atelier

A playful twist on an old tradition awaits. We’ll combine artistry, decadence, and a touch of old-world charm to create something both beautiful and delicious to take home. Expect to stamp, savor, and smile.

Saturday Evening Interlude

As twilight settles, the evening is yours to enjoy as you wish. Savor dinner with newfound friends at one of the nearby cafés, indulge in a spa treatment, or simply retreat with a book and a cup of tea.

A Candlelight Reading & Reflection Salon

Later in the evening, those who wish to linger a little longer in Austen’s world are warmly invited to my suite at The Pfister Hotel where you can relax and be read to Austen style. We’ll also enjoy a meditative circle of quiet reflection, drawing oracle cards and gazing softly into the flame for insight and inspiration. Pajamas welcome—simply come as you are.

Sunday, February 1st @ The Pfister 10:00-11:30am

A Meditative Art Walk

The Pfister is home to the largest hotel collection of Victorian Artwork in the world. Begin the morning at your own pace with breakfast in the café downstairs, and bring along a cup of tea or coffee as we wander the halls among portraits and landscapes steeped in history. A lovely start to our final day together.

“A Most Meaningful Correspondence” Salon

Our final gathering is perhaps the most heartfelt of all—a graceful culmination of everything you’ve experienced and created throughout the weekend. What unfolds here will linger long after the retreat ends—and a small surprise will arrive one month later to remind you of its quiet magic.

Until Next Time….

Location

The Woman's Club of Wisconsin, Downtown Milwaukee

Our gatherings on Friday and Saturday will be held at the Woman’s Club of Wisconsin, a true Milwaukee treasure and one of the oldest women’s clubs in the United States. Founded in 1876 by a circle of visionary women dedicated to education, philanthropy, and civic engagement, the Club has long stood as a symbol of refinement, culture, and empowerment. Its Georgian Revival clubhouse—built in 1887 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places—features sweeping staircases, crystal chandeliers, and art-filled rooms that echo the grace and intelligence of the women who gathered here for over a century to inspire change and foster community. It’s a setting Jane herself might have admired—a place where conversation, purpose, and beauty meet.

Whether you feel called to soften, to rekindle inspiration, to awaken your sensuality, or simply to feel like yourself again… this is your invitation.
No performance. No pressure. Just presence, grace, and an open heart.

This retreat isn’t about filling your days — it’s about allowing them to unfold with ease and grace, much like a page in Austen’s world. Partake in what you like, or find a cozy nook to read.
